DMA Calibration Error - Slide travel too short

This error can occur during calibration if there is less than 20 mm of travel range for the drive shaft (slide). (The full drive shaft travel range is 25 mm from top to bottom.) The cause may be one of the following:

  1. The drive shaft is damaged.

  2. The weight used for force calibration is too small.

  3. There is a problem with the drive electronics or the motor.

  4. There is something obstructing the movement of the drive shaft.

Make sure that you have removed the fixed and moveable clamps and that the weight used for force calibration is not less than 100 grams, then repeat the calibration.

If the error persists, call TA Instruments for service.
