Every analytical instrument produces distinctive signals that may or may not be stored in a data file. To select the signals that you want to be saved in data file produced for this experiment, access the Summary Page in Experimental View. Select the desired instrument mode, then click the button. Check the signals to be stored from the list shown. This list will vary based on the instrument model and mode. (Time and Temperature must be selected.) The signals selected apply only to the current run.
See DSC instrument signals for a complete list of signals. Some examples of available DSC signals stored are:
Time
Temperature
Heat flow
Sample purge and flow (MFC only)
Delta T
Reversing heat flow
Nonreversing heat flow
Heat capacity
Reversing heat capacity
Nonreversing heat capacity
Temperature amplitude
Heat flow amplitude
Modulated temperature
Modulated heat flow
Reference sine angle
Sample purge flow
NOTE: The "heat flow" signal should be selected and used to measure the heat of fusion or enthalpy of sharp melting transitions such as obtained with Indium.
